Storm Geomatics Limited is a specialist survey company that concentrates its resources on surveying for the water engineering business. Our company has built a reputation among consulting engineers as one of the leaders in capturing georeferenced data for river and floodplain modelling, still water surveys, environmental surveys, and water-based construction. Storm Geomatics is looking to scale up its operations, increase capacity, and move into new and previously undiscovered markets.

We are looking for a dynamic team player to join our company as a surveyor. You will be responsible for undertaking large, complex surveys and managing multiple teams. You will be responsible for bringing together the entire project, ready for QA. You will liaise with the client and our survey managers to provide the very best survey deliverables, ensuring they are fit for purpose and the best use of our clients’ budgets. Your work will be split 50/50 between site and office, with opportunities to progress your career within a growing company.

The majority of our projects are based on the following:

  • River Channel Cross Section Surveys
  • Still Water Surveys
  • Near Shore/Coastal Surveys
  • Setting Out
  • Topographic Surveys
  • River Condition Assessments
    The successful applicant should ideally be able to complete the following:
  • Complete all survey operations without guidance.
  • Undertake large, complex survey tasks managing multiple teams.
  • Develop new ways of working and innovate to increase productivity.
  • Liaise with clients to develop specifications to enhance client deliverables
    that are fit for purpose.
  • Liaise with clients over problems and issues concerning surveys.
  • Have been a surveyor for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Always be prepared to go above and beyond the role of a surveyor to meet
    deadlines and enhance the reputation of Storm Geomatics.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of surveying tasks to a level where teaching
    others with confidence is possible.
  • Proven record of self-improvement and development.
  • Fully understand the commercial aspects of the business and associated
    financials.
  • Actively assist surveyors and trainees in their knowledge development.
  • Show constant profit margins as project lead.
  • Set an example to others of hard work, dedication, and a positive mindset.
  • Be a member of MCInstCES or equivalent, or very close to completion.
  • Continue to self-learn and develop survey/water-based knowledge.
  • Strive to promote Storm Geomatics as the leading survey company in the UK.
    The successful applicant should ideally have the following attributes:
  • Be physically fit
  • Be a real team player with aspirations to grow within the company
  • Have a high level understanding of technology and computers
  • Be able to work away from home on weekdays
  • Hold a full clean driving licence
  • Be fluent in English
  • Be able to swim
  • Be able to work on your own initiative
